The NS (Name Server) records of a domain show which DNS servers are authoritative for its zone. Basically, the zone is the selection of all records for the domain name, so when you open a URL within a web browser, your laptop or computer asks the DNS servers globally where the domain address is hosted and from which servers the DNS records for the domain name should be retrieved. In this way a browser finds out what the A or AAAA record of the domain address is so that the latter is mapped to an Internet protocol address and the site content is required from the proper location, a mail relay server finds out which server takes care of the e-mails for the domain name (MX record) to ensure that a message can be forwarded to the correct mailbox, and so forth. Any modification of these sub-records is done using the company whose name servers are used, allowing you to keep the web hosting and switch only your email provider for example. Each domain name has at least 2 NS records - primary and secondary, which start with a prefix like NS or DNS.

The outstanding Hepsia Control Panel, offered with with our hosting plans, will allow you to manage the name servers of every single domain name registered through our company with only a few clicks, so even if you have never had a web hosting plan or a domain address before, you'll not encounter any troubles. The Domain Manager tool, which is a part of Hepsia, comes with a very user-friendly interface and it will permit you to modify the NS records of any domain address or even a number of domain addresses simultaneously. We also provide you with the opportunity to create child name servers dns1.your-domain.com and dns2.your-domain.com for every domain registered in the account just as easily and all you need for that is a pair of IP addresses - either ours, if you will use the child NS to forward the domain to the account on our cloud platform, or the ones of the third-party provider if you will use the new records to redirect the domain name to their system. In contrast to other providers, we don't charge extra for providing this additional DNS management service.

Hepsia will even allow you to set up private name servers under any domain address registered in the account and use them not just for that domain, but also for any other one that you wish to direct to our cloud platform.
