A catch-all email mailbox receives messages sent to nonexistent email addresses under the same domain. For example, an email sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. Thus, you can get emails from acquaintances or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling error or to an out-of-date one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Only one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. This is due to the fact that at some moment you may start receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation implies that the spam will not be re-sent to a 3rd-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Cloud Web Hosting
If you host a domain name on our cloud hosting platform and you have a cloud web hosting account, you’ll be able to activate the catch-all functionality for any email mailbox that you create under the domain name. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia Control Panel comes with quite a few functions, but it’s astonishingly simple to use, so configuring a catch-all mailbox takes only a single mouse click. All the email addresses that you have set up will be enumerated in this section alphabetically and you’ll simply have to click on the "Catch-all" button associated with the particular email address. Our system will notify you if there is already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain or if the one that you want to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either disable the latter feature or choose a different mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all option is just as easy and takes one more click on the very same button.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
A catch-all address can be set up with a few clicks if you’ve got a semi-dedicated server with us. The semi-dedicated account will be administered via our custom-developed Hepsia Control Panel and you will be able to create mailboxes under any domain registered there. To enable the catch-all functionality for a specific mailbox, you’ll have to click on the button with the exact same name, which will be on the right-hand side of each mailbox. Deactivating this feature can be done in the same way and will not require more than a click either. If the catch-all option has already been enabled for a specific domain, you’ll get a warning. The same is valid if the mailbox that you would like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never disable or replace any feature automatically.
